EDMONTON, ALBERTA, CANADA, August 31, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ — AMID GLOBAL PANDEMIC, BIONEUTRA RETURNS TO PROFITABILITY

BioNeutra Global Corporation (“BioNeutra” or the “Company”) (TSXV-BGA) announces financial results for Q2, 2020 and the first half of 2020 ended June 30, 2020 and the related Management’s Discussion and Analysis, the details of which have been filed and are available on SEDAR (System for Electronic Document Analysis and Retrieval. www.sedar.com

BioNeutra is pleased to report that despite a challenging business environment brought on by COVID-19, BioNeutra posted a profit for Q2, 2020 of $168,000 – a sharp reversal from a loss of $4 million for the same period in 2019 continuing a trend commenced in this year’s first quarter.

BioNeutra President & CEO, Dr. Jianhua Zhu says, “I’m very proud of the turnaround the BioNeutra team has executed in Q2 including significant cost adjustments in light of the Pandemic. Our progress is the result of tight cost controls, improved margins and stronger inventory management along with a significant reduction in the spend on trade shows and travel.”

Dr. Zhu added, “Despite a decrease in our sales, we still showed a profit. We’ve stabilized our costs against our revenues in a decisive way beginning in our first quarter. We made remarkable progress in our second quarter. It hasn’t been easy, but we’ve taken the right steps and we’re now going in the right direction.”

The Company’s revenues declined to $6,339,000 in the second quarter of 2020 compared with revenue of $9,023,000 in the same period of 2019, still BioNeutra’s net income for the period is a substantial increase over the previous year. In 2019 we posted a loss of $4,661,000 in Q2, 2019 compared with a profit of $168,000 for the current quarter.

BioNeutra’s debt has also shrunk further during this period, and our liabilities have been reduced by over $4.5 million since year end of 2019. Our cash balance at the same time has increased by over $1.9 million.

Since the Pandemic hit Canada, we have been able to continue to operate our Edmonton production facility uninterrupted and are ramping up its output and our other departments, which had been operating from at home, have now returned to work. We remain vigilant and on guard and employ best practices to protect our employees.

Dr. Zhu concludes with this remark, “We are all working together to face the challenges posed today while making progress on several business opportunities that are focused on adding significant shareholder value.”

InSpire Transpiration Solutions and Fluence by OSRAM Continue Webinar Series for Cannabis Cultivators

Leading HVACD and lighting solutions companies announce second event in free webinar series focused on cultivation facility design

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, USA, August 31, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ — Cannabis industry leaders InSpire Transpiration Solutions and Fluence by OSRAM (Fluence) announce the second event in their collaborative webinar series. “Part Two: Key Lighting and HVACD Decisions in a Retrofit Facility” will take place on Thursday, September 10 at 11:00 a.m. CST. Last month, Part One covered new construction and new build planning for cannabis cultivators and cultivation facility designers.

“When a legacy facility is fully built out and you’ve invested a large amount of money, it’s challenging to start from scratch and choose a new HVACD system,” said Adrian Giovenco, CEO of InSpire Transpiration Solutions. “From a retrofitting perspective, a phased approach is a great way to improve the performance of your facility in smaller pieces while continuing to generate revenue. Maximizing the performance of your existing HVACD system and leveraging controls is a terrific way to squeeze as much ROI out of your investment as possible.”

The upcoming webinar will present strategies for cannabis cultivators to:
– Capitalize on opportunities and limitations when retrofitting an existing facility
– Efficiently transition equipment by reviewing different options and evaluating pros and cons
– Take an intelligent approach to phasing in order to maintain cash flow during retrofit
– Explore ways to uncover creative solutions during a building retrofit
– Successfully maximize existing equipment through an integrated control system
– Understand the importance of equipment selection and the impact of equipment decisions on an entire facility

Attendees will leave with the foundational knowledge necessary to evaluate and analyze a space and choose equipment that will work best for their unique cultivation and business needs.

“Retrofitting a facility with LED lighting gives growers ample opportunity to expand and push the limits of their cultivars while simultaneously saving on energy costs,” said David Cohen, CEO of Fluence. “As discussed in part one of this webinar series, lighting – and its effects on HVACD – is a critical factor for optimizing a grow operation. Our customers who have retrofitted to LED and carefully adjusted their HVACD systems in parallel have seen up to 40% reductions in energy usage.”

The collaborative webinar series is designed to provide a foundation for making important decisions surrounding lighting and heating, ventilation, air conditioning and dehumidification (HVACD) equipment. It is hosted by Robbie Batts of InSpire Transpiration Solutions and Aaron Fellabaum of Fluence. Batts is InSpire’s Chief Technology Officer and has significant experience in cultivation science, technology, engineering and construction. He has spent the past decade learning everything about the intersection of cannabis facility design and HVACD. Fellabaum is the Director of Strategic Accounts for Cannabis and Lighting Design Manager for Fluence in North America. Fellabaum has more than 15 years of experience collaborating with growers to optimize their growing facilities, adopt new technologies and implement innovative cultivation methods across multiple crops.

U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell Announces Compromise Legislation to End Doping and Deaths in American Horseracing

Animal Wellness Action Executive Director Marty Irby

Animal Wellness Action Executive Director Marty Irby

WASHINGTON, DC, USA, August 31, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ — U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell today announced his intent to introduce the Horseracing Integrity and Safety Act, compromise legislation that would end the doping of Thoroughbred racehorses in the United States.

The doping of American racehorses has been a controversial issue over the past five years with hundreds of horses dying on racetracks weekly, and the indictment of 37 trainers and veterinarians in March of 2020.

Animal Wellness Action (AWA) has been a leader in the effort to end doping and is a member of the Coalition for Horseracing Integrity Act, H.R. 1754/S. 1820 with 257 House cosponsors and 26 Senate cosponsors. AWA’s executive director, Marty Irby, testified before Congress in support of the measure to end doping in January.

“The Horseracing Integrity and Safety Act will bring 16 hands of integrity back to American horseracing by banning race-day doping,” said Marty Irby, a lifelong horseman and executive director at Animal Wellness Action. “U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and others are right to press the industry to create a uniform anti-doping standard that will protect the horses and the sport against the worst impulses of some of its actors.”

“Kentucky is proud of our distinct horseracing traditions. We must address the challenges the sport faces so we can preserve our heritage and the jobs of over 24,000 Kentuckians who support it,” said U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. “As Senate Majority Leader, I look forward to working with Congressman Barr and our colleagues across the aisle on our legislation to give federal recognition to the Horseracing Integrity and Safety Authority. Together, we can better protect every competitor and give each of them a fair shot at the Winner’s Circle.”

Building on the Horseracing Integrity Act, McConnell’s Horseracing Integrity and Safety Act (HISA) is landmark legislation that would directly address the safety and welfare of racehorses, and the integrity of the sport itself, through better anti-doping measures and racetrack safety standards.

In an illustration of the broad industry support for change, this bill is now supported by all three Triple Crown racetracks, as Churchill Downs has endorsed the bill for the first time. The effort continues to enjoy the support of the Coalition for Horse Racing Integrity (CHRI), which includes the Jockey Club, the Breeders Cup, Keeneland Racecourse, the Thoroughbred Owners & Breeders Association, the Water Hay Oats Alliance, and animal welfare groups like Animal Wellness Action.

The fractured nature of anti-doping and track safety efforts across the U.S.’s 38 racing jurisdictions has undermined the public’s confidence in horseracing, threatened the integrity of competition, and endangered the human and equine athletes. Enactment of the HISA will address these problems head on while helping to enhance the public’s interest in this very important industry. For the safety of the horses and jockeys, and for the sport of horseracing itself, American horseracing needs the Horseracing Integrity and Safety Act of 2020.

Key Provisions
In order to create these uniform performance and safety standards for the sport of horseracing, the HISA creates the Horseracing Integrity and Safety Authority, which is a private, independent, self-regulatory, nonprofit organization. It will not be funded by the federal government – the horseracing industry will pay the funds necessary for the establishment and administration of the Authority. The Authority is tasked with developing and implementing both a horseracing anti-doping and medication control program and a racetrack safety program.

Composition of the Authority
The Authority will be governed by a Board of Directors consisting of nine members. Five of those members will be independent of the industry, and four members will be experts from the following sectors of the industry: owners and breeders, trainers, racetracks, veterinarians, State racing commissions, and jockeys. To assist with the development of these programs, the Board will establish an anti-doping and medication control standing committee and a racetrack safety standing committee, both controlled by independent members outside the industry. All independent members of the Board and standing committees will be subject to strict conflict-of-interest standards.

Anti-Doping Program
The Authority will be required to create a set of uniform anti-doping rules, including lists of prohibited substances and methods, protocols around the administration of permitted substances, and laboratory testing accreditation and protocols. These permitted and prohibited substances and practices will be developed after taking into consideration international anti-doping standards and veterinarian ethical standards, along with consulting racing industry representatives and the public. The new nationwide rules would replace the current patchwork of regulatory systems that govern horseracing’s 38 separate racing jurisdictions. For services related to the enforcement of this program, the Authority shall enter into an agreement with the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency, which has a proven track record of conducting anti-doping and medication control activities for all U.S. Olympic athletes and its approach can easily be adapted to horseracing.

Racetrack Safety Program
To protect the health and safety of racehorses and jockeys, the Authority will also create a racetrack safety program, consisting of a uniform set of training and racing safety standards and protocols. Those standards include racetrack design and maintenance, oversight of human and equine injury reporting and prevention, and the procedures for undertaking investigations at racetrack and non-racetrack facilities related to safety violations. The Authority creates an accreditation program to ensure that racetracks comply with these safety procedures, and in order to continue gather information on racetrack safety, the Authority will establish a nationwide database of racehorse safety, performance, health, and injury information within one year of the establishment of the program.

XtremeAg's Matt Miles Talks ROI of XPR 2 Concaves

xpr2 concaves

Head to Head: XPR 2 Concaves vs John Deere Concaves in two John Deere S680 Combines.

John Deere Concaves vs XPR2 Concaves, XtremeAg Matt Miles Talks ROI of XPR2 concaves vs OEM in his two John Deere S680s in his latest Field Report.

ARION, IA, US, August 31, 2020 /EINPresswire.com/ — View full video here www.xtremeag.farm/blog/xtremeag-blog/2020/08/28/the-roi-of-aftermarket-concaves

Matt Miles with XtremeAg and we're out here in a in a field of a corn that we cut yesterday. I'm doing a report on the new Estes XPR2 concaves and I know that Kelly Garrett and Kevin Matthews has run them. We got our set, put it in Saturday and we're very impressed with what we have seen so far. We can run faster and it's doing a better job with grain loss. We're running two John Deere S680's with 8-row corn heads with shredders. We put the XPR 2 concaves in one of them and left the OEM concaves in the other one so we could get a direct comparison. I'm going to show you what we saw yesterday and I think we got some pretty exciting news for you.

Alright guys, so we're out in the field now and this is our OEM John Deere concaves on John Deere S680 combine. This corn was wet was running about 250 bushels, moisture was 19% to 20%, going in the grain bins with it. To check grain loss, we've pulled out three foot of husks and stover and checking with this is one-foot by one-foot PVC. We got behind the combine made sure we were in a row with the most corn behind it. You can put this 1X1 PVC anywhere here in this three foot area and you're going to come up with about three kernels behind the OEM; in the three foot span that we measured off, there are nine kernels. So you can move this around any place and you're going to get about three kernels in a square foot. So this is what the OEM John Deere concaves looks like.

Now we're behind the Estes XPR 2 concaves, same combine John Deere S680 combine. We took our one foot by one foot square walked out behind the combine and threw it out in the field. We're out in the field deep enough that we make sure the combine is loaded up and it's at its full capacity because If you do it right on the ends, you come to the end of your coming out, you're going to be slower or faster. So we get out of the middle of field to do this and you can throw it basically anywhere in this 3-foot section and maybe get a kernel to zero. Like I said when we hunted around and then found five kernels in 3 square foot area. So we're really impressed with that. Take into consideration that we do not have the XPR 2 Xtreme separator grate installed. You know for what we do and how we set our combine, the speed we run, you know, cutting here in the Delta, we feel like that's about as good as we could get. So if we get that seperator grate, and it does even a little bit more we're probably going to get this thing down to zero. We are very impressed with the Estes XPR2 concaves. Combine operators are very impressed. The guy who's driving this particular combines on cloud nine because he laps the other combine during the day several times.

Okay, so do some of the calculations that we've come up with using the GoHarvest app, which is a John Deere app, specifically built for the John Deere combine. And you take the amount of losses out the back and depending on the yield and the moisture on the corner to give you kind of what you're losing per acre. And with the John Deere concaves we're losing roughly on that app about 2.1 bushels to the acre, that comes out to be 0.84% bushel per acre loss. On the XPR2 concaves we're at a 0.95 bushel loss which converts out on that app 0.38% bushel per acre loss (using 30% less horsepower). So, you know, there's a pretty good money difference there this year with corn prices where they are. Not to mention, our OEM John Deere combine is run at the average about 3.2 MPH. We run HarvestSmart so it kind of takes control depending on the yield and where we're at as to what the combines running (MPH). With Estes XPR2 concaves, we're running 4.5 MPH (40% faster ground speed).

Those calculations, you know, 25 to 35 acres a day more harvested. Roughly a bushel and a half better yield. You know, you do all those numbers and it's probably one of the best ROI Investments that XtremeAg or I personally have been involved with so. So little skeptical when I started. I didn't know an aftermarket concave could make that much difference, but it's really made a difference for us.
